Fire and Ice Workshop

What to bring:
- An open mind to embrace the cold and learn techniques that allow this process to happen naturally.
- A bathing suit under comfortable cloths. Due to the location being in nature please wear your bathing suit under your normal clothing to be prepared. Your welcome to change in your car but no facility will be available to change in. Make sure to wear comfortable cloths that allow for free movement because we will be doing some exercises to prepare for the cold water plunge. When the weather is cold outside I strongly urge attendees to bring layers of clothing they can remove or put back on to be as safe as possible. Cold water plunging is incredibly powerful and requires respect, mindfulness, and preparedness.
- Towel and flip-flops or other sandals
- Yoga mat for breathwork and meditative practices

Location: The location for this workshop is a private property in Newbury, OH and will be emailed to all registered attendees. The property is beautiful for this cold water plunge training(polar bear plunge) workshop.

Information:
This workshop will include instruction in breathwork and meditative practices that have been inspired by my training in Pranayama(the yogic system of breathwork), Systema(the Russian Martial Art), Chi Gong(a Chinese system of healing, movement, and health practices), and my training with Wim Hof in the Wim Hof Method. Through years of cold water training and study in these systems I have devised my own system which blends practices from all of these methods and systems. Nature and her elements are the ultimate teacher. My approach to the use of the elements of cold and fire have gone through an evolution which is now crystalized into a system that will empower you to embrace the cold, use it as a healing force, and tap into your own inner potential.
This workshop will be divided into the following schedule:
- A lecture to outline the methods that will be practiced. This will be held outside and will require a yoga mat to sit and lay on for the both the lecture and the first breathwork technique that will be taught.
- Breathwork and meditative practices to prepare everyone for the cold water plunge in the pond on the property.
- A Chi Gong buildup practice prior to entering the cold water.
- A group cold water plunge that will last no longer then a few minutes. All attendees will be guided in the water and led out of it safely.
- A group heated teepee reheat practice to quickly learn how to increase ones own body heat and get the body comfortable rapidly. The teepee is not like a sauna however there will be a small fire within it. The reheat will happen based on the practice of a very specific breathing technique that is different than the preparatory practices before the plunge. This will be done in groups of 5-8 people at a time so again please come prepared with layers you can put back on based on how you feel.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is suitable for everyone, but does require a basic level of health. Out of precaution, we advise against participation during pregnancy, or if you are epileptic or have current problems with your heart. People with cardiovascular issues, or any other serious health conditions should always consult a medical professional before starting any cold water exposure training. With this being said, anyone who has any of these health problems can still participate in the workshop and omit the cold water plunge portion. The breathwork and meditative practices can be done by anyone and are very powerful by themselves without the cold water plunge.

The only reason I have the ability and inspiration to teach workshops like these is because of what I have learned from my teachers. Although, there are too many to acknowledge here I do want to thank Vladimir Vasiliev, Wim Hof, Rudra Shivananda, and Philip Belzunce and Lalei Gutierrez-Belzunce. It is from these main teachers that I have been inspired to develop this workshop from. All of the systems these teachers share have cold water exposure techniques in which the use of cold water is used to improve health, resilience, and inner strength. From the cold water dousing of Systema to the cold water plunging of Wim Hof to the discipline of cold waterfall practices of the Taoists, all of these practices have similar benefits. To me it's always been very interesting to see so many shared disciplines in the vast majority of esoteric disciplines. It is with incredible reverence and honor that I have had the opportunity to study from these teachers. Now I will be paying it forward by sharing the life changing and health enhancing practices from these disciplines.
